Round or truncate handicap
Round handicap (7.50→8, 7.99→8) (recommended)
Truncate handicap (7.50→7, 7.99→7)
Handicaps are calculated to 2 decimal places but rounded/truncated when applying strokes (whole number) on the scorecards.

Tee adjustment
If your golfers play on more than one tee, this option should be checked.
Highly recommended to ensure final handicaps are adjusted fairly.
Formula is...
'Final handicap' = Handicap + ('Scratch Par' - Par)

'Final handicap' is adjusted by adding the tee's ('Scratch Par' minus Par) to Handicap.
'Scratch Par' is based on the length of the tee being played.

Tee difficulty (Advanced)
This option is NOT recommended for most leagues. It only adds unnecessary complexity to the handicap calculation and usually has no effect on a player's final handicap.

Stroke reduction for "Adjusted gross score"

Note: "Adjusted gross score" is used to calculate a golfer's handicap.
Select how player's handicap strokes are applied on the scorecard.
A. Player vs Player
Recommended if you are awarding points for "Player vs Player" competition. The lower handicap player receives no strokes, the higher handicap player receives strokes based on the difference in handicaps.
B. One Player versus Many
Recommended if you are awarding points for "Team vs Team" competition. The lowest handicap player receives no strokes, the higher handicap players receive strokes based on the difference in handicaps.
C. Player versus Course
Recommended if you are awarding points for "Stableford Competition". A player receives full strokes based on his\her handicap.
Give strokes many ways
NOT recommended. League Manager applies strokes using the 3 methods above simultaneously. Method A is used for "Player vs Player" points, Method B is used for "Team vs Team" points, and method C used for "Stableford" points. All three ways of applying strokes cannot be displayed on the scorecard at once, therefore strokes will NOT be displayed.

Select how team handicap strokes are applied on the scorecard. Below option applies only, if your league awards team "Team Total Score Competition" points.

Use team strokes (recommended).
Strokes are applied using "team" stroke concept.

Example:
Bob and John are teammates. Both Bob and John have a handicap of 1. Their opponents both have a handicap of 0. Bob and John's team handicap is 2 (Bob's 1 handicap plus John's 1 handicap). As individuals, Bob and John both receive 1 handicap stroke on the first handicap hole. But as a team, they receive 2 strokes. 1 stroke on the first handicap hole and 1 stroke on the second handicap hole. Thus strokes are distributed more evenly for team competition.

Note: LM displays 'team' strokes on the scorecard in red.
Use player strokes.
Strokes are applied using "player" strokes.

Example:
Bob and John are teammates. Both Bob and John have a handicap of 1. Their opponents both have a handicap of 0. As individuals, John and Bob both receive 1 handicap stroke on the first handicap hole. These 2 strokes on handicap hole number one are ALSO used to determine which team wins the hole. From the example, you can see strokes are lumped together. Two strokes on the first handicap hole and none on the second handicap hole.
Maximum strokes a player is allowed to have on a par 3 hole.
